Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder and her family relocated to Mendocino, California, when Ryder was only seven years old. The family was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder would read extensively because of the lack of television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In 1986 she landed her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder was bullied throughout her time in high school. Her acting career, she hoped, would help her. But it wasn't to come to happen. It didn't stop her from making plans for her future. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder was a star in numerous films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
